About
“Unconventional interpretations of classical media' would be a fitting phrase for the broad range of work from the young and versatile Christof Nardin.
Having just recently graduated from the University of Applied Arts Vienna, his pieces represent a rich and creative vocabulary which is constantly expanding and is filled with intelligent, subtle yet willful imagery.
Conceptional clarity, experimental methods and surprising results are a consequence of his open and refreshing way of working. But more than this, his sense of style, his use of irony as well as an awareness of socially engaging themes, makes Christof Nardin's work arresting and strong. Not surprisingly his work has been recognised internationally.

In his study of communication design Christof was focused on the media. However he didn’t refrain from realising his conceptual attitude in different ways. His portfollio includes posters, magazines, books, complete corporate designs and websites but also incorporates expositions and interior design as well. Christof Nardin has developed design for the University of Applied Arts Vienna, the Jewish Museum Vienna, Generali, the ‘SDBI.DE’ (German Apparel Industry Foundation), homed (Homosexuals in health), UNHCR and SOS Mitmensch. He prefers to work in an open network of collaborators; Sabine Dreher, Thomas Geisler, Kramar, Kasimir Reimann, Robert Rüf and Ute Schindler form the group of partners with whom he works.

In the past years he recieved several awards for his work. He was preseneted with a “best of the best” during the Red Dot Award and got awards from the Type Directors Club New York, the iF Communication Design Award (gold), the Art Directors Club New York, the European Design Award in Stockholm. He received three Joseph Binder Awards in bronze. He collected an Output Award 09 and finally he was awarded with a decoration from the “100 beste Plakate” (Germany, Austria and Switzerland)."
